COLORADO COUNCIL OF CHURCHES
LUNCH & LEARN
Via Zoom (provided the day before the webinar)
We're seeing Black history erased across the country. Colorado isn't having any of that nonsense. Join us as the Colorado Black Equity Study team shares what they are doing to give deeper meaning to Colorado history.
In 2024, the Colorado General Assembly passed, and Governor Polis signed, SB24-53 requiring "History Colorado to study the ongoing effects of slavery and subsequent systemic racism on Black Coloradans that may be attributed to practices, systems, and policies of the state, and establishes a commission to assist this effort and to contract for an economic impact study."
The commission's team has been engaged in that work for months and they'd like to update the faith community. They will release their highly anticipated report in 2026.
This virtual event is co-sponsored by the Interfaith Alliance of Colorado and Together Colorado.
