Superintendent Patrick L. Demmer discussed Mayor Wellington Webb's recent Press Release as he says, “I want to know if the regents [at CU] want to go on record as being the most segregated university under their tenure when the history of Colorado is written,” Webb asked at a press conference. “You cannot have an institution that’s all white and the team all Black; that based upon the visual itself speaks of segregation.” The article may be viewed on CPR News https://www.cpr.org/2025/03/21/mayor-webb-calls-on-cu-regents-to-review-university-hiring-practices/

He also shared information on programs that have been implemented in both The Denver County Jail and Downtown Detention Center, i.e. both have video visitation for most inmates now.
