I am excited to share my experience attending the National Action Network's annual convention this year! It was truly a productive, informative, and fulfilling event, bringing together passionate advocates for civil rights from across the country.
I was particularly inspired by the insights shared by Colorado Attorney General Phil Weiser, who emphasized the crucial role of legal advocacy in promoting justice and equality. His commitment to protecting the rights of all citizens is a powerful reminder of the impact that dedicated leadership can have on our communities.
The convention featured powerful leaders, panelists, speakers, faith leaders, educators, professors, Hollywood actors, gospel performing artists, and elected officials from local to federal levels—all coming together to uplift and inspire. It was a true testament to the diverse coalition of voices working towards a common goal of social justice.
One of the most impactful moments for me was participating in the march outside Bill Ackman's office, standing in solidarity with Reverend Ron and others as we protested against efforts to undermine diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI). This experience reinforced the importance of advocating for our citizens and ensuring that DEI commitments remain a priority in both corporate America and higher education.
Together, we are amplifying the voices of those who have been historically marginalized and working towards a future where justice, equity, and opportunity are accessible to all. Let's continue to stand strong in our advocacy and make a difference in our communities!
