Pastor Dr. Odie Kennedy was elected GMDMA President in January 2025 and the first female president since the organization’s inception in 1940.
She is Senior Pastor of Unity Pentecostal Temple Church of God in Christ and was a partner in ministry with her late husband, Superintendent Lamar Kennedy. The Church recently celebrated their 45th Anniversary with her leading as Senior Pastor for almost 10 years and continuing in her husband’s motto, to Reach The Lost At Any Cost.
She is gifted in the prophetic realm as evidenced in her teaching and preaching as she imparts divine wisdom with clarity and practical application.
She is the founder of Sister-to-Sister, an Interdenominational Women's Fellowship Conference, over 20 years ago that has blessed countless women of various denominations throughout the Denver Metropolitan community. She continues to impact the world through her bi-weekly blog, "Pastor Odie Kennedy's Pearls" as well as ministering the Word of God. And through it all, she continues to manage a healthy balance of home and church.
She has obtained success in both her Christian and corporate careers
In Education: She has an honorary Doctorate Degree in Theology from the Denver Urban Theological Institute; through her Public Health and Nursing Leadership PhD program from the University of Northern Colorado; a Masters of Science in Nursing, a Masters in Healthcare Administration (MHA) from Webster University St. Louis, MO, and an Bachelors' of Science in Registered Nursing from West Texas State University.
